Our Compliance Reviewer

Each statement here about what the CBI regulation demands is checked by one lawyer with a compliance and sanctions background.

Vanuatu CBI Requirements sets out what the citizenship by investment regulation actually asks of an applicant: the conditions in the legislation, the due diligence that every file passes through and the evidence expected for source of wealth. The site is an independent publication and does not speak for any Vanuatu authority.

Because so much of this subject turns on compliance, all of the content is reviewed by Tarek Muhammad, whose practice includes regulatory compliance and sanctions regimes. He checks each page against the published rules before it appears and after any amendment.

What Muhammad checks on this site

  • Each requirement is linked to the Citizenship Act [CAP 112] or a published regulation, with the provision named wherever the text relies on it.
  • Descriptions of due diligence and source-of-wealth evidence match the programme's published rules, without adding conditions or relaxing them.
  • Wording on sanctions screening neither overstates nor understates how UN, EU or OFAC listings can affect an application.
  • Contribution amounts and government fees match the most recently published figures and are marked as subject to change.
  • Statements on the programme's current status and any recent amendments are rechecked before each update.
  • Processing time appears only as usually 2 to 4 months, without any guarantee.

What the reviewer does not do

The reviewer does not act on applications. Lodging is reserved by law to a designated agent on the published register, and every decision is taken by the Citizenship Commission. Our reviewer neither submits files nor influences their outcome, and the analysis on this site is general information about the regulation, not legal advice on any individual's position.
